My Bowling Ball Got Munched

Last Thursday night when I was bowling, in the third game, my bowling ball got stuck down in the ball return. I didn't notice it didn't come back for a couple of minutes. Yvan (owner) wasn't there that night, so Rosie had do go back to get my ball and a few others unstuck. When my ball came back, it was covered in white stuff. When I looked at it, I noticed that it was completely gouged out on one side and the white stuff was presumably the dust from either a pin getting ground up or the remnants of my ball. Dad's ball also sustained some damage. He tried to clean it off but it didn't come off either. To say the least, I was not amused. I had to bowl the rest of the game with a house ball. I brought my ball to the desk and Linda assured me that Yvan would be able to "buff" it out. I am curious to see tomorrow night if he was indeed successful or if they will be providing me with a new ball.

We went to mom and dad's for Easter. It was just the four of us and mom cooked a Turkey. Dad gave me his old set of golf clubs because he got all new ones. He really went through the effort of hooking me up. Now I will need to take some lessons and learn how to play!

Jaime, Mom, and I learned how to play Canasta. Mom had bought a specialized deck. It is similar to Hand and Foot, but with more emphasis on picking up the discard pile and less emphasis on making packs (canastas). I did a little research on Wikipedia and discovered that Hand and Foot is actually a derivative of Canasta. It was fun, but I think a four person game would have been more fun. Three people changes the dynamic since everyone is going for the same stuff.

We had Good Friday off as a holiday. This is probably the first time since Christmas that I took my holiday and did not go in to work on one of the days on the weekend. When I went into work on Monday, I was really productive. I was on Tuesday as well. I guess I have been burning myself out and taking some much needed rest paid dividends. Of course, by this point in the week, I am starting to drag again. I am writing a program at work and I tend to become a little obsessive when I am in programming mode. I end up thinking about it 24/7 and that wears me down.

I've been pretty regular at the gym at least 3-4 times a week. I am disappointed because my weight loss has plateaued for about the last month. It was going well, then just petered out. I don't know if I need to increase my workout intensity, restrict my calorie intake more or what. We do tend to eat out or order out a little more than I would like, and that is when I tend to splurge.

Jaime has been really into the Relay for Life, getting her team together. She is also on some organizational committees and is in charge of the Survivor's tent. I am going to post some links and stuff on this page about it.
